Honda Nighthawk

My first bike - 1982 Nighthawk 750

This page is a dedication to my old 1982 Honda Nighthawk 750.  This was my first motorcycle and is what introduced me to the life of motorcycling.  I got this motorcycle on my 16th birthday and managed to ride the bike for about 9 years.  There weren't a ton of miles put on this bike but they were all quality.  I managed to put on ~ 13000 miles and travel to north eastern Iowa on numerous occasions and one big trip to Sturgis and Yellowstone.  The last few years of me owning this bike weren't the most glorious as I had little time to ride and little funds to get her all fixed up.  I replaced the front fork seals but the carbs needed a lot of love and spending >$750 to get all four of them rebuilt was just too much money for this old bike.  The exhaust needed to be replaced as well as the previous owner ripped the baffles out and it resulted in a way too loud bike (there is such a thing).   In the end the cost of getting it ready for a lot more riding was just too much.   Instead of putting the money into this bike, I sold it and used the money saved and from the sale towards my sporty.
